Monday Moment #35

Tomorrow is the first day of school. So this past week meant making some preparations, like haircuts. Ah, my babies are growing up. From this very spot, I can look up at the girls' school photos from last year when they both had hair down to the middle of their back. Now, both of them have hair cuts above their shoulders. Very cute!

It was fun to leave the salon and watch both of them attempt to catch glimpses of themselves where ever they could, like in windows and the rear view mirror. When we got home, they were constantly going back to the mirror, checking out their new style: tucking hair behind ears, pushing it forward, putting it a barrette. Really, loving their new hair.

I love that. I love to think about how simple changes like haircuts, a new outfit, or a new shade of lipstick can impact how you feel and act. Now, the girls were feeling great about their hair, but that's not always the case. An outfit could be out of your comfort zone. The shade of lip color could be too bold. The haircut could be devastating (I have had a couple of those!).

In what way has a physical change of some sort made your character feel or act differently?
